AOD-9604 is a modified piece of human growth hormone (amino acids 176 to 191). It was designed to keep the part of growth hormone linked to fat metabolism without the effects on growth or blood sugar.
What the research shows
AOD-9604 was developed in the 1990s and 2000s as a possible obesity treatment. Lab and animal studies showed effects on fat breakdown, but larger human trials did not show meaningful weight loss compared with placebo, and it was never approved as a drug. Today it's used off-label, often alongside diet and exercise.
How it's used
AOD-9604 is commonly supplied as a 5.0 mL vial at 2.0 mg/mL. A typical dose is 500 mcg (25 units), injected under the skin, once daily. Your prescriber sets your exact dose and schedule.
